I have been trained using the part, assemblies and drafting workbenches. I find SolidWorks to be a pretty straight forward and user friendly program. Using the mouse gestures and hot keys allows for efficient work.
I have hundreds of hours of training and practice in the part design, assembly, mechanical systems, wireframe, stress test, piping and tubing, electrical, sheet metal, machining, drafting and other workbenches. By far my favorite CAD software, it is such a powerful tool with limitless possibilities in proper hands.
This is where I started. My first real CAD software and still a fun one to use. I feel it is a user friendly program that most anyone can learn to use with enough effort. Fusion gave me a great introduction and foundation to start my CAD experience.
Benders head was a fun assembly to create and even though it was made early in my formal CAD training it came out really nice.
